Liverpool have been given another fresh injury concern ahead of the Premier League clash with Southampton after Virgil van Dijk was substituted ahead of extra time in the FA Cup final.
The Dutch centre-back was substituted to be replaced by Joel Matip ahead of extra time in the FA Cup final against Chelsea at Wembley, with the former Southampton defender looking frustrated as he went off to add to Liverpool’s concerns. It was not clear whether van Dijk had sustained an injury, with the Dutchman receiving no treatment on the pitch in the closing stages of the game.
Van Dijk follows Mohamed Salah as the latest star to go off for Jurgen Klopp’s side after the Egyptian was withdrawn with an injury concern in the first-half.
Liverpool are due to face Southampton in the Premier League at St Mary’s on Tuesday night.
